Mill City Museum  Minneapolis, MN 2003

(Paul Udris and Mark Burgess with MS&R)

The Mill City Museum tells the story of Minneapolis' rise from a small settlement at St. Anthony Falls to the flour milling capital of the world. Built within the ruins of the Washburn A Mill, the Museum draws a clear distinction between the old parts of the building -- craggy limestone walls and twisted, rusting machinery -- and the new -- sleek planes of glass and painted steel.
